MEMORIES

Today I attended a funeral for a dear friend of mine, Peter Dale. I met his wife who worked at Hallmark years ago while chasing Beanie Babies. Matina and Peter were married 56 years and he was 85 years old when he passed away January 7th, 2010.

Now Peter and Matina were Greek Orthodox and it was so interesting to attend the funeral services. The priest did a "speak sing" of verses in the bible in greek and English. Once thing that stood out to me was the little chant they kept repeating..."Memories, Memories, Memories." Although you can't heard the tune it is haunting and reminded me that is what we are creating each and every day.

Just the other day I was visiting blogs (yes, it can be an obsession ha ha). I ran across gotart4u.blogspot.com Which I have been to before. Sherry the owner of this blog was talking about how some bloggers are picking a "one word resolution" for the new year.

This got me thinking about what my one word would be. Today at the services it was sung to me.........MEMORIES. Isn't that what it is all about? Creating a memory that will make us happy or someone else happy. Using memories for creating art and scrapbooking. Documenting memories to give to others so we don't forget the good times.

Yes, MEMORIES is my new year resolution. What is your "one word" new year's resolution....think about it.

Memories is a great one, Jackie!

Mine would have to be 'FAMILY'.

That's where you create most of your MEMORIES! They are so important and we wouldn't have all of those memories to look back on if it weren't for family...our art friends are also family.

It's so nice to be belong.

I think memories is a wonderful choice, as are the others your friends have listed.
