Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
Today, more than ever, is a day to remember. A year ago, my life was so different from today. I sometimes try to remember what I was doing and what Frank, my husband, said to me .. If we laughed or hugged.
Frank was a proud American and so this day not only reminds me of those still fighting to protect our freedom but of him also.
Remember to kiss and tell those you love How special they are to you as life changes oh so quickly.
I drove up to Costa Mesa on Thursday to attend a class led by Leighanna Light called Metal Deck. This is one of the classes at the art retreat CREATE
It was a great class and fun to work with metal and tools. Leighanna, to me, is a great assemblage artist that is low-keyed and shares her knowledge.
We each got 10 pieces of 4 x 3 tins. We sanded each piece front and back and began our journey altering the metal and collaging. We used some new tools and know I will be making a trip to Harbor Freight for some cool shopping :}
Even though I knew most of the techniques, I learned some good tips and how to use what I have already differently. Can't wait to do more.
The creative ladies came over today to play and I decided we would just make something from nothing. Lemonade from Lemons I called it. I gave each lady a little envelope with some pieces of "this and that" and said "go to it" and create....and create they DID!
They never seem to disappoint.
Sally made this cutey.
Debi made this one, bullseye, embrace PEACE NOW :}
June got vampy on us!
Matina sweet and special.
Margo made Lemonade from Lemons....some religious people came to the door passing out pamphlets and she took the pamphlet and used the print to make her card... Will Humans Ruin This Earth?
Lynn made a couple styles...VavaVoom :}
Kat worked on her project from another art meetup. I think it turned beautiful.
Geo....Georgia made her own creation and helped make the lemonade (and yes, Sally I know you helped too! :)
No I didn't make anything yet! but soon ha I do love watching and seeing what everyone creates....A M A Z I N G!
Since I've been going through my STUFF, I realized I need an outlet to either sell some of this STUFF and give me a "healthy" reason to be shopping :} Or, if it doesn't work out, maybe I'm going in the wrong direction.
To that end, I rented a tiny, tiny space at Country Flowers in Escondido. Today I went in and hauled some of my STUFF in to sell. I had fun setting up my space and deciding what goes where.
If you're in the area, come on by and check out my STORE as well as all the other fun furniture and goodies to be had. WARNING, unfortunately there is no air conditioning so pick a cooler day to check it out or wear your cute summer top.
Country Flowers, 523 West Valley Parkway, open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm, lots of parking. This store is located on a one-way street heading west so mapquest it first before going if you have never been there before.
BEFORE A Blank Slate to work With.
AFTER my cupboards are filled :}
I sold 3 things while I was setting up sooooooooooooo exciting. Hope you get by.
